Sarah:

You could certainly execute all of the same techniques without the bag as we do with the bag.  However, since there is no actual target,  the kicking becomes less "target" kicking and more "aerobic" kicking and the boxing become less "impact" boxing but more "shadow boxing" If you have boxing gloves, I would wear them for this segment for added resistance and intensity (with or without the bag).

The segment begins with a brief warm up of jumping jacks and jack round kick combinations, followed by different types of round kicks, then punches -- we then move onto squat/back kicks and slow sidekicks followed by faster paced side kicks and finally back to punches. During the bag segment, follow along doing exactly everything I do, except since there is no bag, keep the intensity level on the power rounds kicks (those are the first set of kicks we'll do and they come off the back leg) a bit less than you would with a bag (since there is no object there to stop your momentum on the kick).  I'll be talking you through the entire segment.  We throw over 175 kicks and more punches than I can remember at this point, so I'm confident you'll still get a good workout.

I decided not to have a modifier in this segment only because we already have two aerobic kickboxing segments immediately prior to the bag segment which feature a modifier and no bag.

Hi Everyone,

Happy Halloween.  I'm so happy that the filming has been completed and really excited to get my new video out to you in time for the holidays.  I would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Thank you,

Susan Chung
